Abundance

“Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend." - Sarah Ban Breathnach

My CFS Is So Bad...

*audience yells* ... How bad is it?

My CFS is so bad, it got kicked off Oxygen's "Bad Girls Club."
It's so bad, it was featured last night on Fox's "Cops."
It's so bad, rebellious teenage girls want to go out with it.

My CFS is so bad, it's not funny.

Yesterday, my dear friend Josie took my boys to Cub Scout Camp for me.  I got a phone call at 9:00 am.  Apparently, you had to wear tennis shoes, and my ten year old was wearing sandals.  She said she'd come by, pick up his tennis shoes, and drive them back out to him for me.  See?  She's a sweetheart.

But then, I had to scour the house looking for the stupid tennis shoes.  Upstairs, downstairs, a good three times, braving the contents of his closet, looking under blankets, looking under the kitchen table, checking the shoe basket, where they should be.  I finally found an old pair that probably didn't fit anymore, and that was the best I could do.  All this took less than fifteen minutes.

And it did me in.  Stick a fork in me, I was done.  Long morning rest, long afternoon rest, early bed time, and I was still wiped out.  All from a little shoe searching.

I've noticed this relapse isn't relenting.  I think I may need to face the fact that this is my new normal.  It is what it is, and it's time I accept it.

So sorry, Shelli....Not fun to have a lower energy level to deal with. Having kids home all summer must be a challenge too. Like I said to Sue, Fun....but hard!

Shelli, I so admire your attitude and sense of humor in the midst of it all! We seem to spend half our lives searching for stuff in our house.

As for the relapse...don't give up. I went through a terrible relapse this winter that lasted 9 months...and then I got back to where I was before. Often, it's some sort of infection that triggers these bad crashes and eventually your immune system will bounce back (at least back to "CFS normal"). This too shall pass...hang in there!

You made me laugh too. Losing stuff is very stressful, especially when you have a deadline to find the thing, and people are depending on it. I was saying to someone yesterday, it's not the rocks, it's the pebbles. I find a minor stress can trip me up completely. Our reaction to stress is all messed up. How anyone copes with children and CFS is beyond me. You're doing a great job. Like Sue says, it will get better. Sending healing thoughts across the sea.

I'm so sorry you are still not rebounding! That just stinks.

As for the searching for 15 minutes and being wiped out, totally get it.

I really hope, as Sue said, that this is not your new normal. Less energy just stinks.

Sending you hugs and prayers.

I'm thrilled you still have your sense of humor, this is something I'm reminding myself daily is a MUST. I hope with some rest and TLC that you will come back up some. It's been a tough summer, with the kids home and you've been doing alot (IMO). Hopefully this is not your new normal - just a push that you need to take it a bit easier.

((Hugs))

I just stumbled across your Blog and I LOVE IT! I have Fibro and I am young too with a 12 year old son and lovely husband and I can RELATE to what you say! I can laugh at myself through you and what you say. It's wonderful and painful at the same time. We all know what you are going through. My husband had CFIDS so we are quite the couple. I loved your adjustments article. There is a lot of good in that too because it teaches your kids tasks and they learn so don't be hard on yourself, its a good thing too. Thanks for your sharing!

Sorry to hear that things are bad for you at the moment but happy that you still have a sense of humour. The "rebellious teenage girls comment" made me laugh out loud!
