Learning to Dance in the Rain
How I dance in the rain:
I lie in bed listening to my boys play and giggle.
I curl up on the couch and watch my favorite shows with my husband.
I read good books.
I connect with and gain strength from you.
I eat my lunch outside when it's sunny so I can feel the sun on my face.
I hug my kids a lot.
I find funny things to laugh at.
I welcome people who come to visit.
I play World of Warcraft.
I keep an emergency supply of chocolate.
How do you dance in the rain?
Abundance
“Both abundance and lack [of abundance] exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend." - Sarah Ban Breathnach

This is fabulous, Shelli. I came home from the tests today wanting to have a meltdown and read your post.....I decided right then do what I needed to do to dance in the rain......
What do I do?
~I get into my pjs and crawl under my Woolie.
~I give my husband as many hugs as he can handle....
~I watch a show that makes me laugh..like reruns of Becker...
Or~ I watch NCIS...old "Friends"
~I read inspirational books
~I look at photos of my children, in-loves, and grandchildren
~I grab a heated rice sock to warm my feet
~I write
~I visit my blogger friends~
There is probably more but this is all I can think of for now~!
This is wonderful, Shelli, and really captures my own life philosophy. I wasn't too thrilled with the first line - "Any day that I'm vertical is a good day" since I spend so many days horizontal!! But I liked the rest. I sometimes write blog posts about the various joys in my life. You've reminded me it's been way too long since the last one. Time to revive that feature. I still have plenty of joy in my life, even with CFS.
Let's see, how I dance in the rain...
- Reading good books
- Going outside, even if it's only to lie in a lounge chair on the deck
- Watching favorite TV shows and movies with my husband
- Watching movies or playing games with my kids
- Enjoying wonderful foods
- Listening to feel-good music
- TRaveling!! I love it, especially our family road trips - just the four of us exploring new places
Great topic, Shelli -

Renee -- I'm so glad this took your mind off your trials for awhile. I'm thinking I need a heated rice sock!
Sue -- I thought that as well. Maybe it should say "Any day that I'm vertical is a really, really good day." Thanks for sharing your list, too!
I take photographs of beautiful things so I can say, hey, look what I saw.
I spend an hour chatting on the phone with my best friend.
If I'm up to it, I make bread. So satisfying.
I have daft messaging conversations with my daughter.
I watch nature from my window.
I love listening to radio drama for my rests.
I watch TV, anything from House to science docs and back again.
And if all else fails, there's always chocolate.
